DOPE Helmer Rick Famuyiwa Signs On to Direct THE FLASH

A few weeks ago, Seth Grahame-Smith dropped out of the director’s chair for The Flash, which stars Ezra Miller as the Fastest Man Alive. Apparently, Warner Bros. decided that a more experienced filmmaker would be better suited for such a big project. Now, a new director has been hired.

According to Deadline, filmmaker Rick Famuyiwa is set to helm The Flash. He will direct from a script written by Grahame-Smith, based on a story treatment by Chris Miller and Phil Lord. Famuyiwa is best known for directing last year’s critically acclaimed movie Dope.

A few days ago, fans noticed that Famuyiwa followed a slew of DC Films-related accounts on Twitter. This led to speculation that he will direct one of these movies. Now we know which one it is.

Variety adds that production on The Flash is expected to begin sometime this year. The film hits theaters on March 16th, 2018. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
