Looks Like DC’s Next Animated Movie is JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK

With the release of every animated direct-to-video film from DC, there is a sneak peek at the next installment. Normally, this comes in the form of a behind-the-scenes featurette with interviews, artwork and more. DC’s next movie, Batman: The Killing Joke, is no exception. And a new classification reveals that the following film will be.

The British Board of Film Classification has classified additional content for The Killing Joke titled, “A Sneak Peak at Justice League Dark.” So, it appears that the next animated DC movie will bring this team of magical heroes to life.

Warner Bros. and DC haven’t officially confirmed Justice League Dark, but stay tuned for an announcement soon. Usually, the next year’s slate of movies is announced at San Diego Comic-Con. And with The Killing Joke confirmed to premiere at SDCC this year, expect Justice League Dark and other films to be announced.

This news comes as Warner Bros. is developing a live action film starring the team, with the working title Dark Universe. Guillermo del Toro left the director’s chair last year, and the studio is reportedly looking for both a new filmmaker and cast members. Could this animated movie be testing the waters for Justice League Dark’s film potential? Time will tell.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
