ARROW and THE FLASH Reveal Big Bads for New Seasons

Arrow and The Flash held their San Diego Comic-Con panels last night, where both shows offered glimpses at the new season. During the panels, the big bads for both shows were confirmed.

First up (via Comic Book Resources), Oliver Queen’s main villain this season is Prometheus. There is a DC Comics villain by that name, but according to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, Arrow‘s version won’t be that same character. “He’s a new character. He’s our big bad for the year. We call him Prometheus [but] it’s not the Grant Morrison/Howard Porter character. He’s pretty badass.”

As previously reported, Prometheus was close to somebody who was killed by Oliver back in season one, when he was dropping bodies as the Hood. He is a “true dark mirror” to the Green Arrow. Hopefully, Prometheus will be a more memorable big bad than Ra’s al Ghul or Damien Darhk.

Arrow returns on Wednesday, October 5th at 8 PM EST on The CW.

Meanwhile (via TV Line), The Flash will have not one, but two big bads for its third season. Barry Allen will be facing Doctor Alchemy, who is not a fan of The Flash at all. Executive producer Aaron Helbing explains, “He’s a bad dude, and he’s going to be a formidable adversary to The Flash and everyone on the team.”

The season’s second big bad is – surprise! – yet another speedster. This speedster has yet to be named. Hopefully, he won’t feel like another rehash of Reverse-Flash, similar to Zoom last season.

The Flash returns on Tuesday, October 4th at 8 PM EST on The CW.
