Warner Bros. Dates Two Untitled DC Movies for 2020
Warner Bros. has been in the process of building its DC Films slate for a while. The studio released Wonder Woman this summer and has Justice League coming this fall, along with Aquaman for Christmas 2018. After that, we have several release dates reserved for untitled films, and there are a lot of DC movies in various stages of development. Now, we have two new release dates.
Warner Bros. has set release dates for two untitled DC films. The first will hit theaters on February 14th, 2020 (aka Valentine’s Day), while the second will release on June 5th, 2020. The studio previously set two other 2020 dates for April and July; these dates were expected to be reserved for Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps, respectively. It’s unknown how those dates would be affected by the new ones.
So which DC movies are these new dates reserved for? Personally, I wouldn’t be shocked if the June date is for Wonder Woman 2. It was just reported this morning that a release date for the sequel should be announced at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. The early June slot worked wonderfully (pun intended?) for the first film, so keeping it for the sequel makes sense.
As for the February date, it could be anything. The Batman and Suicide Squad 2 are expected to shoot next year, so they’ll probably be out in 2019. Same with The Flash if it locks down a director soon. There’s also Batgirl, Nightwing, Gotham City Sirens, Justice League Dark, and many more movies in the works. So, I don’t know.
Hopefully, Warner Bros. will reveal at least some of these untitled movies at SDCC this weekend. Stay tuned for more updates as we have them.
