These Five Spider-Man Villains Will Reportedly Appear in SILVER AND BLACK

In addition to Venom, Sony is developing a Marvel-based film titled Silver and Black, which will team up Spider-Man supporting characters Silver Sable and Black Cat. Gina Prince-Bythewood is directing the film, as well as working on script revisions. Now, rumor has it that some more Spider-Man villains will appear.

According to That Hashtag Show, these five characters from Spider-Man lore will appear in Silver and Black. The site also verifies a past rumor by Splash Report that describes the movie’s plot. Here are the five characters… (By the way, some SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Homecoming follow.)

Mendel Stromm/Gaunt – This character previously appeared in 2002’s Spider-Man, played by Rob Perkins. In that film, he assisted Norman Osborn in perfecting the formula that turned him into Green Goblin, before being murdered. Unlike that take on the character, Silver and Black‘s Stromm will embrace the comic book version’s love of robotics, and he will be a cyborg called Gaunt. Long story short, he has a long history with Silver Sable, and his experimentation on the Symkarian people will have her coming for revenge. Stromm has also begun to create exosuits for people, including his two henchmen…

Anton Rodriguez/Tarantula – This character is one of Stromm’s henchmen, and he only has a small role in this movie. The martial artist intercepts Silver Sable and Felicia Hardy, he poses as a ladies’ man, and he attacks the two with exo-boot. This exo-boot is similar to the toe blade that the character wears on his boots in the comics.

Mac Gargan/Scorpion – This is where things get complicated. Gargan already appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, played by Michael Mando. And after that mid-credits scene, fans have expected Scorpion to be a villain in the sequel. Given Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal’s back-and-forth comments on whether Sony’s films take place in the MCU, it’s unknown if Mando will reprise the role for Silver and Black, or if they’ll recast. Regardless, in Silver and Black, Gargan will be Stromm’s other henchman, and he will be given an exosuit with a scorpion tale. He will fight Silver and Hardy a couple times, before returning for the movie’s action-packed final act.

Dimitri Smerdyakov/The Chameleon – One of Spider-Man’s oldest villains, Chameleon also has a small role in this film. He only has a few scenes, where he trades information with Silver. Chameleon is the man in-the-know at the Tri-Border of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, where Hardy is hiding. And, yes, Chameleon will get to show off his disguising abilities.

Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone – The fan-favorite gangster will – you guessed it! – only have a small role in Silver and Black. Tombstone is after Hardy because she stole something from him. He will keep his trademark look from the comics, and thus, he will be one of the most intimidating and formidable antagonists in the movie.
