Warner Bros. May Announce WONDER WOMAN Sequel at SDCC

Considering how huge a hit Wonder Woman has been, Warner Bros. would be crazy not to pursue a sequel. Sure enough, Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns are already writing a story treatment for Diana Prince’s next solo adventure. While the time period isn’t confirmed, rumor has it that the sequel will take place during the Cold War-era of the 1980s. Now, it looks like we’ll hear something official soon…like, very soon.

The Hollywood Reporter published a piece about Wonder Woman passing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 at the domestic box office, making it the studio’s third biggest release of all time (just behind The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises).

In the article, THR says that the current plan is for Warner Bros. to announce a release date for Wonder Woman 2 during its San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday. Also, it appears that Patty Jenkins is definitely returning to direct.

Gal Gadot is already coming to the panel to promote Justice League, while the studio will also show off a first look at Aquaman. It would make sense for WB to use the panel to confirm some new DC movies, including Wonder Woman 2. It would be great if the studio announced release dates for The Batman, Suicide Squad 2, and other films that are in development. But we’ll just have to wait and see.

Stay tuned for more as we have it.
