FX Acquires TV Rights to LOGAN and SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
FX has been on a roll with acquiring the rights to air big blockbuster movies on television. This week, the network added several more movies, including two of this year’s comic book movies.
According to Deadline, FX has acquired the rights to Logan, the critically acclaimed swansong for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, the new Sony/Marvel reboot of the Webhead. Both movies are among the year’s biggest hits so far; Logan made $616 million worldwide, while Spider-Man has made $706.4 million and counting.
It’s unknown when these movies will premiere on the network, but typically, films make their FX debut 2-3 years after their theatrical release. So, expect them to air in 2019 or 2020.
