Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam May Debut in SUICIDE SQUAD 2

Dwayne Johnson has been attached to play DC villain/antihero Black Adam for years. Originally set to be the big bad in Shazam, the character will instead star in his own standalone movie. Afterwards, Johnson teased that Black Adam will first appear somewhere else in the DC Universe, while he confirmed that he will (eventually) fight Superman. Now, we may know which DC movie he’ll make his first appearance in.

According to The Wrap, the current plan is for Black Adam to make his debut in Suicide Squad 2. Apparently, the sequel will revolve around the team being tasked to find a weapon of mass destruction – which turns out to be Black Adam himself.

Suicide Squad 2 isn’t expected to start production until October of next year, and The Rock always has a packed schedule. However, his role in this movie shouldn’t take that much time to shoot, says The Wrap. So, it won’t be a scheduling issue.

(By the way, we suggested the idea of Black Adam joining Suicide Squad 2 last year. So, you’re welcome?)

After Suicide Squad 2, Johnson will reprise the role in the Black Adam movie, before facing off with Shazam in a potential sequel. Fans have also speculated about the character appearing in a Man of Steel sequel, but that’s barely a rumor at this stage.

Suicide Squad 2 will be written and directed by Gavin O’Conner. Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto are attached to reprise their roles from the first movie. No release date has been confirmed yet, but expect it to drop sometime in 2019 or 2020.
