LEGION Season 2 Updates: Premiere Date, Shadow King Recasting, Bryan Singer's Future

Following the huge success of FX’s Legion, the network quickly picked up a second season. Production is going on now, and at today’s Television Critics Association (TCA) tour, we have some updates.

Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in April. The first season premiered in February, so fans may be disappointed by the slight delay. Still, it offers more time to finish the season, as a new actor has joined the cast…

It was announced (via TV Line) that Homeland actor Navid Negahban has joined Legion as the villainous Ahmal Farouk, aka the Shadow King. Said Taghmaoui was originally going to play the character, but he dropped out a couple months ago.

Additionally, during the tour, we received some updates on Bryan Singer’s X-Men TV future. Legion showrunner Noah Hawley told Deadline that Singer is no longer an executive producer on the show, per the director’s request. Hawley goes on to say that Singer’s involvement was very limited. Also, Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn said that Singer’s role on The Gifted was under review.

Recently, Singer has come under fire from a series of sexual assault allegations, including a lawsuit. At a time when many in Hollywood are being exposed for their actions and fired, many have wondered if Singer would continue to be involved in any more projects. He left the currently-shooting Bohemian Rhapsody at Fox, while he is currently still an executive producer on X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
