AQUAMAN Will Reportedly Have a Post-Credits Scene

Post- and mid-credits scenes are becoming more and more common in blockbuster films. But while Suicide Squad and Justice League had additional scenes, DC Films’ other three titles did not. Thus, fans have wondered if we should expect more movies to follow suit. And if this new report is to be believed, DC’s next movie will do it.

According to Discussing Film, Aquaman will have a post-credits scene. While we won’t spoil what it is here, it is designed to set up a potential sequel. Discussing Film also says that there is potential for this scene to be cut, since we’re still a few months away from release. Warner Bros. has been adamant that for the time being, DC movies will be more self-contained and won’t put much focus on crossovers. So, if that’s still the case, it’s unlikely Aquaman will set up a Justice League 2 or anything like that. Rather, any post-credits scenes will probably tease a standalone sequel to this movie. Same deal if movies like Shazam! or Wonder Woman 1984 have credit scenes too. But, we’ll have to wait and see.

Aquaman is scheduled to hit theaters on December 21st. The sixth installment in the DC Films Universe stars Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Temuera Morrison, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ludi Lin, Patrick Wilson, and Nicole Kidman. James Wan directs from a script by Will Beall and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
