STAR WARS: New Books and Comics Announced

The next round of Star Wars novels and comics will flesh out the prequel era! We’re getting a ginormous list from Del Rey, and I’m excited! I’ve got my highlighted publications from the panel below.

Queen’s Shadow By: E.K. Johnston
This book will follow Padme Amidala as she transitions from queen of Naboo to senator of Naboo.
E.K. Johnston wrote Ahsoka, and she did a phenomenal job with that novel, so I’m excited to see what she can do with a different character. Queen’s Shadow will be released March 5 2019

Star Wars: Master and Apprentice By: Claudia Grey
This book will follow Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi before the events of Episode I.
Claudia Grey has contributed Star Wars novels Bloodline, Lost Stars, Leia Princess of Alderaan, and a short story for the anthology From A Certain Point of View. Star Wars: Master and Apprentice will be released February 28 2019.

Solo: A Star Wars Story novelization By: Mur Laferty
You people can judge me all you want, but I enjoy reading the novelizations. They open up areas that just didn’t have enough time in the movie, + like, Qi’ra is everything. The novelization will be released September 4 2018

Star Wars Adventures: Tales from Vader’s Castle By: Cavan Scott
Based on the cover image released, it looks like we’ll see some fan favorite characters, like some of the Star Wars: Rebels crew. But we’ll also get the story behind why Vader has a castle anyways. No news yet on a release date.

Age of Republic, Age of Rebellion, Age of Resistance By: Jody Houser, Grek Pak, and Tom Taylor respectively
Each “Age”, will be an anthology of 8 issues, and follow heroes through each time period. We’ll see some different perspectives of each war, but little else is known.

There’s more, but those are just the highlights like I said. I’m excited for the prequel area to be explored, but I also want to see some new places. I hope we’ll get more new ideas, but these characters getting to be explored, and fleshed out is 120% exciting.

Stay tuned with us for more Star Wars, and SDCC 2018 coverage!
