HARLEY QUINN/JOKER Directors Offer Script Update for “Deranged” Relationship Movie
Warner Bros. previously put several Harley Quinn-centric films into development. One of these was a film pairing her with Jared Leto’s Joker, to be written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. We haven’t heard too much on this one in a while, especially with Birds of Prey being the studio’s top priority. But now, the filmmakers have provided an update. Margot Robbie Hints at R-Rating for Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey Movie
After considering several Harley Quinn-centric projects, Warner Bros. is now moving ahead with Margot Robbie’s spinoff, to be directed by Cathy Yan. The (officially untitled) film will be based on the Birds of Prey comics, and it will unite Harley with several female characters from the DC Universe. Now, Robbie sheds some light on what to expect. In an interview with Collider, Robbie says that she first pitched the movie back in 2015, when she was shooting Suicide Squad. So, she’s spent three years pursuing her vision.
