Casting is currently underway for the unspecified villain(s) of Batman vs. Superman, with Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire) being looked at for an antagonistic role. So far, Lex Luthor is the most likely to appear, as he was heavily referenced in Man of Steel. The likes of Metallo and Doomsday have also been rumored. Now, we have a potential clue for what to expect. According to Batman-On-Film (via Batman-News), there will be two villains – and both are Superman foes. No other details are given.
As stated before, Lex Luthor is expected to be the main villain, but a more physical antagonist will likely be featured. While Doomsday and Metallo are the most obvious options, it’s also possible that the second foe will be Bizarro, Parasite, or even Mongul. Bigger villains like Darkseid and Brainiac will probably be in future DC movies. Stay tuned to Watchtower of Babel for more news as we have it.
Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters July 17th, 2015. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer.
