Video Games: Next BATMAN: ARKHAM Installment Set For Holiday 2014 Release?
While Warner Bros. Interactive recently released the prequel Batman: Arkham Origins, Rocksteady is apparently still developing a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Arkham City. Via IMGMR, we have some potential details for the highly anticipated installment. Titled Batman: Arkham Knight, the game will have an open-world map that contains “a little more freedom” than Arkham City‘s. Additionally, the artistic style will resemble that of the 2011 game. While we do not have any details on the plot or villains, Arkham Knight is reportedly targeting a Holiday 2014 release for Xbox One and Playstation 4.
Last year, rumors suggested that Rocksteady was developing a Silver Age Batman prequel, which would see his first encounter with The Joker and feature several members of the Justice League, for a 2014 release. After the release of Arkham Origins, it would be surprising for another prequel to debut immediately afterwards. However, the inclusion of other DC superheroes isn’t out of the question. Stay tuned for official news on the next Batman: Arkham game as we have it.
