ARROW Casts a New Vigilante While DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Adds Another Hero

We have a couple of casting updates for the next seasons of two of The CW’s DC shows, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.

First up, Entertainment Weekly reports that actor Rick Gonzales will play Wild Dog on Arrow. Wild Dog is a new vigilante in Star City, and his “…reckless and cocksure nature prompts Green Arrow to take him under his wing.” This goes along with a recent casting breakdown.

Wild Dog will appear in multiple episodes of Arrow, beginning with the season five premiere. This marks the character’s live action debut. In addition to Wild Dog, Arrow is adding two new villains next season. Expect those roles to be cast soon.

Additionally, a new hero is coming to Legends of Tomorrow. According to Deadline, Nick Zano will play Dr. Nate Heywood in a series regular role. Heywood, a historian, is the grandson of Henry Heywood/Commander Steel, who is a member of the Justice Society of America. In the comics, Nate followed in his grandfather’s footsteps and became a hero known as Citizen Steel. Don’t be surprised if something similar plays out on Legends.

Heywood joins the cast as Legends of Tomorrow explores the JSA next season, which was teased in the season one finale. He’s also not the only new series regular for the show, as casting is underway for a new version of Vixen. Expect that role, and others, to be filled soon.

Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow return next fall on The CW.
