Rumor: BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Production Delayed Following Ben Affleck Injury
It’s time for another Batman vs. Superman rumor. This time, however, an unfortunate turn is taken. Batman-News has heard from a source that Ben Affleck has suffered a leg injury, pushing back production for the Man of Steel follow-up six weeks. The crew, who was informed earlier this week, is now on a month-long hiatus. It’s unclear just how serious this injury is, but a member of the SuperHeroHype forums said last night that Affleck broke his leg in a skiing accident. There’s no word on whether or not the production delay will affect the movie’s release date, but if this is true, we could be looking at a March filming start date instead of the previously reported February.
Obviously, we don’t know if this rumor is true. Batman-News is a very reputable website, but rarely posts its own rumors. There’s also no word on whether or not this will impact expected announcements concerning casting, the title, or a first look at Affleck as Batman. In the meantime, we should take this with a grain of salt until we receive verification.
Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters July 17th, 2015. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
