Update On BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Release Date Delay – There’s Nothing To Worry About

Last night came the shocking announcement that Batman vs. Superman has been pushed back a full ten months, and will now be released on May 6th, 2016. A slew of theories were formed surrounding the delay – such as the rumors of Ben Affleck suffering from a leg injury – but Warner Bros. only said that it was to ensure the realization of its vision. Now, Batman-On-Film has clarified the reasoning behind the release date move.
Firstly, the site says the Affleck injury rumor is false, and the actor’s health had absolutely no influence on the delay. Secondly, the main reason behind the push-back is to make the movie as great as possible. The script and story are being “retooled”, apparently for the better. Argo‘s Chris Terrio was recently hired to rewrite the script, a move no doubt influenced by Affleck. So, in short, there’s no need to worry about the delay.
As for when production on Batman vs. Superman will now begin, WB said that it will start in the second quarter of 2014. It has also been said that a two-month delay has been issued to the crew. So a late spring/early summer production start date is likely. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
