Jason Momoa Reportedly Set To Play Aquaman; New Details On His BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Cameo

For some time, Jason Momoa has been rumored for a role in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. The most frequent of these linked the Game of Thrones actor to the part of Aquaman, who is expected to cameo in the film to set up the planned Justice League movie. Now, a reliable news source has confirmed this news. According to HitFix, Momoa is indeed playing Aquaman, despite his denials. Director Zack Snyder has finalized his designs for the King of Atlantis, so filming will occur soon.

As for how Aquaman will factor into Dawn of Justice, HitFix affirmed that a prior rumor is indeed true. While the site is unsure whether he will actually be called Aquaman in the movie, he is said to be displeased with the World Engine’s destruction of the Indian Ocean in Man of Steel. Again, this is just a minor appearance that sets up a bigger role in Justice League, which is reportedly set for a May 2017 release. HitFix also reveals that Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will use the destruction of Metropolis to paint Superman as a monster, confirming past speculation.

While Warner Bros. has yet to officially confirm this news, don’t be surprised if these details are true, given HitFix’s track record. The studio is expected to announce a slew of DC films at Comic-Con next month, with some hoping that the full Justice League cast will be unveiled there. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
