SUICIDE SQUAD Movie Targeting Will Smith, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hardy And Margot Robbie For Roles
One of the DC movies announced today was Suicide Squad, which is now expected to hit theaters on August 5th, 2016. Fury and End of Watch director David Ayer is set to helm from a script by Justin Marks. Today, it was reported that four A-list actors are in talks to star in the supervillain team-up flick. And now, we may know just who they are.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Drive‘s Ryan Gosling is being courted to star in Suicide Squad. The actor, who has largely avoided comic book movie roles despite being frequently fancast, has also met with Marvel Studios to star in Doctor Strange. But that’s not all for Suicide Squad. The DC movie is also being offered to Will Smith, The Wolf of Wall Street‘s Margot Robbie and Tom “Bane” Hardy. Warner Bros. is reportedly set on making this movie an “A-list ensemble piece,” and the script is still being developed.
A script review from earlier this year revealed that the Suicide Squad lineup consisted of Deadshot, Vixen, Captain Boomerang, Blockbuster, Multiplex, Jaculi and Mindboggler. However, if the script is being rewritten, then there’s a good chance of the lineup changing. Perhaps Harley Quinn – who has been played up as a Squad member in the media recently – could be included? And it’s easy to see an actress such as Margot Robbie, who co-stars with Will Smith in next year’s Focus, in that role. Also, could Tom Hardy return to the DC Universe after his stellar performance as Bane in The Dark Knight Rises? Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
