LUCIFER Casting Shake-up: Lesley-Ann Brandt Joins the Cast

Two weeks ago, we reported that Lina Esco was cast as
“Maze” in Lucifer.  Maze is a demon ally of Lucifer possibly based
on the character “Mazikeen.” 
If seems that after the table read, Miss Esco has bowed out of the
cast.  Her replacement was announced
today at Deadline; Lesley-Ann Brandt has taken over the role.

Born in South Africa, Brandt is best known for her stint as Naevia
on Spartacus: War of the Damned in
2010 and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena
in 2011.  She’s also had guest appearances
on Legend of the Seeker and Law and Order: SVU.  Last fall, she appeared on Gotham as “Larissa Diaz,” in
the episode “Lovercraft.”  The
character was based on the Batman villain, Copperhead. (imdb)

She will be joining Tom Ellis, DB Woodside, Rachael Harris
and Lauren German in the cast.  Lucifer is based on characters from the
Neil Gaiman run of Sandman, produced
by Tom Kapinos and Bruckheimer Television and directed by Len Wiseman.  The series has been given a pilot Order by
Fox and should be filming soon.
