Last night, it was announced at Comic-Con that one of DC’s 2016 animated films will be an adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke. As one of the company’s most iconic graphic novels, it is exciting to see it adapted into a movie. Now, DC has revealed more details on this adaptation.
DC Comics has confirmed that Batman: The Killing Joke will be executive produced by Bruce Timm, the mastermind behind the likes of Batman: The Animated Series and the upcoming Justice League: Gods and Monsters film. The Killing Joke will be an “exciting” new take on the story, which will be set up by an original 15-minute prologue created specifically for the film.
Joining The Killing Joke on DC Animation’s 2016 slate are two original stories – Batman: Bad Blood, which marks the movie line’s introduction of Batwoman; and Justice League vs. Titans, which will introduce the Teen Titans. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
