It was announced at Comic-Con last month that fan-favorite DC hero Wally West will appear in season two of The Flash, marking the character’s formal live action debut. In the comics, West becomes Kid Flash, before replacing Barry Allen as The Flash himself. In fact, West’s Flash is, in the eyes of many fans, even better than Allen’s. So, anticipation is high for his role on The Flash this season.
Now, the character has officially been cast. The CW has announced that Insurgent actor Keiynan Lonsdale is set to play Wally West on The Flash. The character will be a series regular role. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had this to say about the casting. “Just like when we met [star] Grant [Gustin] for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero. We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.”
It is unconfirmed if West will have superspeed powers on The Flash. However, it would be surprising if he didn’t sooner or later. Stay tuned for more news as we have it. The Flash returns to The CW on October 6th.
