Greg Berlanti Confirms Involvement with BOOSTER GOLD Movie; Zack Stentz to Write Script

Warner Bros. has has a Booster Gold movie adaptation in development for a while. Recent rumors suggest that the film will be a team-up with Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, with DC TV mastermind Greg Berlanti attached to direct. While Blue Beetle’s involvement is still uncertain. Berlanti has confirmed that he is working on this DC film.

During a lengthy interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Berlanti comments on the chances of taking on a godfather-type role in the DC Extended Universe – similar to Kevin Feige and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He says that he loves the DCU and would love any opportunity to work on it.

Berlanti then confirms that he is attached to Booster Gold. Zack Stentz is set to write the script. Stentz is also no stranger to the comic book genre; his credits include X-Men: First Class, Thor and even the last episode of The Flash. Berlanti says, “I’m attached to a few films [at Warner Bros.] now, and one, Booster Gold, is a DC property. Zack Stentz, who wrote an episode of Flash last year, just got the job, so he’s writing the script now. I’d probably direct that, or I would want to.”

So, Berlanti would be interested in directing Booster Gold. But one DC film that he definitely doesn’t want to direct is The Flash, a completely separate beast from his television show. He simply says, “…I could never direct a Flash movie that Grant Gustin wasn’t the lead of. He’s my Flash.”
