King Shark Was Considered for SUICIDE SQUAD, Says David Ayer

David Ayer and the cast of Suicide Squad held a Q&A session on Twitter today. During Ayer’s turn, the writer-director was asked if there was a character he had considered for the film, but ultimately dropped. Turns out he considered a pretty big addition.

Ayer reveals that King Shark was considered for the Suicide Squad team. However, he explains that bringing the character to life would have required plenty of CG work, and he didn’t feel comfortable with creating a fully CG character. Thus, Killer Croc was added instead.

King Shark is a frequent member of the Suicide Squad in the comics and animation. He was also featured on The Flash last season, showcasing some of the show’s greatest CG work. King Shark was even rumored to appear in Suicide Squad last year, but obviously, that didn’t happen. Oh well, maybe in Suicide Squad 2
Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theaters August 5th. The third installment in the DC Extended Universe stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, Jay Hernandez and Karen Fukahara. David Ayer writes and directs.
