Another day, another box office milestone surpassed by DC Films’ latest blockbuster, Wonder Woman. Today, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the critically acclaimed superhero movie surpassed the $600 million mark at the worldwide box office.
To date, Wonder Woman has grossed $289.2 million in North America and $312.4 million overseas. This brings its worldwide total to $601.6 million. Later this week, it will surpass Mamma Mia! ($609.8 million) as the highest grossing live action movie to be directed by a woman. Wonder Woman is also on the verge of surpassing Man of Steel ($291 million) at the domestic box office, and it will probably surpass the other DCEU films in North America too.
Despite competition from new releases, including this week’s Transformers: The Last Knight, Wonder Woman is expected to maintain its strong legs. Stay tuned for more updates as we have them.
