SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Surpasses $300 Million at the Domestic Box Office

Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has been one of the biggest movies of the summer, fueled strong reviews from critics and a solid box office run. This week, the film has reached a key box office milestone.

Deadline confirms that Homecoming has now surpassed $300 million at the domestic box office. The movie is currently at $682 million worldwide. Sony domestic distribution chief Adrian Smith had this to say about the film reaching this benchmark. “Congratulations to our partners at Marvel and everyone who worked on Spider-Man: Homecoming for reaching this important milestone. We couldn’t be prouder of the film and our incredible cast and filmmakers for delivering exactly what moviegoers wanted to see this summer.”

Domestically, Homecoming is already ahead of both Amazing Spider-Man movies. It’s currently right behind Spider-Man 3, which grossed $336 million back in 2007. We’ll have to wait and see if Homecoming hits that mark too. Worldwide, Homecoming is still behind every other Spider-Man films, but with the movie hitting theaters in Japan today and China next month, it should get a big overseas boost in the coming weeks.
