AQUAMAN Sequel Moving Forward with Screenwriter
We’ve already talked countless times about Aquaman‘s huge success. With a $1.1 billion gross worldwide, it’s inevitable for at least one sequel to happen. Now, Arthur Curry’s next adventure is setting sail.
Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick has been hired to work on Aquaman 2. He previously wrote the first film with Will Beall, who shared story credit with Geoff Johns and director James Wan. Wan is also producing alongside Peter Safran.
Right now, it’s unclear if Wan will return to direct. While he is heavily invested in Aquaman’s world, the filmmaker is reportedly waiting on the right script before making a decision. And considering how much effort Wan put into Aquaman, it would make sense for him to take a breather before making plans for the future.
In addition to Aquaman 2, Warner Bros. is expanding the franchise with a spinoff focused on The Trench. Simply put, the world of Aquaman will only continue to grow on film.
Stay tuned for more news as we have it.
