5 Games to Check Out on the Nintendo eShop

Nintendo has plenty of games on its eShop, from longtime classics to modern titles. If you are someone like me who does not care about Animal Crossing, here are some suggestions on what games to play.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

Do you enjoy a good murder mystery? Do you like solving puzzles and interacting with goofy and enjoyable characters? If you do, then Ace Attorney Trilogy is something for you. Here, you play as the defense attorney Phoenix Wright, with a point and click gameplay, searching for information that can help your cause in court.

You can find the trilogy on the eShop for $29.99 USD

Doom (2016)

I think we all can agree, that even though it’s necessary, the self-quarantine/distancing is frustrating. So why not have a game where you can take out your anger by taking down demons in more than one fashion? If you are not bothered by the brutality that comes with the demon slayer, then Doom is worth considering.

It is for sale for $59.99 on the eShop.

Yooka-Laylee

When I was deciding what to put on the list, at least one platformer felt obligated to be added. Enter Yooka-Laylee, a platformer filled with charm, humor and enjoyable puzzles. It is a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, a franchise created by RareWare back in 1998. So take into account some glorious fourth wall-breaking British humor.

It is currently for sale for $39.99 USD over at the eShop.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

For me to not add Fire Emblem: Three Houses in this post would be ludicrous. One of the things I live and breath on is the Fire Emblem franchise. If you are unaware of the Fire Emblem franchise, it is a turn-based strategy JRPG where you control different units with their own strength and weaknesses. In Three Houses, you follow Byleth, son to the Mercenary Jeralt who ends up as a teacher for one of the three houses that studies over at Garreg Mach. But trouble arrives as the year goes by.

You can find the base game for $59.99, or $84.98 if you want the DLC to come with it.

Final Fantasy 7

With the release of the remake arriving soon, I felt that it would be fitting to add the original for this list. It is a Japanese Role-Playing Game with an ATB (Action Turn Based) mechanic, following Cloud Strife and his team who fight against the evil corporation, and Sepiroth, a former comrade of his.

It is currently for sale for $15.99 USD.
