Jeremy Renner Set to Star in SPAWN
Jeremy Renner will be joining Jamie Foxx and Todd McFarlane in the Blumhouse adaption of Spawn. Deadline reports that Renner will be playing Detective “Twitch” Williams, while Foxx will be playing Al Simmons. The budget has yet to be determined (it’ll likely be in the $10-12 million range), but McFarlane is hopeful these casting choices will help it, as well as “spawn” a franchise. Since 2015, Todd McFarlane has been planning a new movie adaptation of his comic book creation, Spawn. The film will mark McFarlane’s directorial debut, and it is set up at Blumhouse. Actor Jamie Foxx has been rumored off and on to take on the titular role; a few weeks ago, That Hashtag Show said he was formally offered the part. Now, it’s official.
