BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Confirmed To Film In Yorkville, Illinois In May

With Batman vs. Superman expected to begin filming within the coming month, we have a production update. According to Chicago Tribune, the Man of Steel follow-up will shoot in Yorkville, Illinois in mid-May. Last year, the Kent farm house from Man of Steel was reconstructed in the city. Unlike that movie, which shot scenes in other Illinois areas, Batman vs. Superman will only film in Yorkville. Production in the area was originally scheduled for February, but this was delayed “multiple times” following the movie’s release date being pushed to 2016.
Director Zack Snyder previously suggested that filming officially starts in April. This was corroborated by costume designer Michael Wilkinson, who said he’d be in Detroit from mid-April to December. While most of Batman vs. Superman‘s production is expected to take place in Detroit, perhaps they will move from there to Yorkville to shoot these Kent farm house scenes before returning. Stay tuned for more news as we have it.

Batman vs. Superman (not the final title) is scheduled to hit theaters May 6th, 2016. The follow-up to Man of Steel, the next installment in the DC Cinematic Universe stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. Zack Snyder directs from a script by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio.
