ARROW Season 3 Casts Felicity’s Mother; David Zayas To Play Sal Maroni On GOTHAM
We have some more casting news for two of DC’s television shows this year. First up, according to TV Guide, NYPD Blue actress Charlotte Ross will play Felicity Smoak’s mother in at least one episode of Arrow‘s third season, which airs in early November. Details on her name and whether she appears in flashbacks or real time are unknown. However, a series of Felicity-centric flashbacks are planned for this season, telling the “origin” of one of Arrow‘s most popular characters. One of these episodes is titled “Oracle.” The new season premieres on The CW on October 8th.
In other news, we have yet another new villain for Fox’s Gotham. According to Deadline, Dexter‘s David Zayas has been cast as gangster Sal Maroni in a recurring role. In the Batman prequel series, Maroni will seek to gain control of Gotham City from Carmine Falcone, who Deadline confirms is to be played by John Doman. The show makes Maroni’s second live action appearance, following Eric Roberts’ performance in The Dark Knight. The mob boss is just one of multiple villains to appear on Gotham, but he’s one who arguably makes more sense than, say, a teenage Catwoman or eight-year-old Poison Ivy. Gotham premieres on Fox on September 22nd.
