It has been confirmed that the first few episodes of The Flash and Arrow this season will set up midseason spin-off DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Now, executive producer Marc Guggenheim gives E! Online some elaboration on how this set up will be done.
As expected, Sara Lance will undergo her transformation into White Canary early on in Arrow‘s fourth season. Also, episode eight, which will serve as the annual crossover event with The Flash, will be particularly instrumental in paving the way for Legends of Tomorrow. Guggenheim says, “4×08, our typical crossover episode, will be doing a lot of heavy-lifting in terms of getting the Legends of Tomorrow characters set up and also seeing where they are with relation to The Flash. It’s a big episode.”
Additionally, during E!’s “Spoiler Chat,” the site revealed new details on Hawkman’s role in Legends of Tomorrow. The character was announced during Comic-Con earlier this month, and he has yet to be cast. This iteration of Carter Hall, who is “charismatic and strong-willed,” is described as “a natural-born leader with a lot of confidence, too bad he’s destined to be reborn over and over, just like his ‘doomed lover,’ being chased by Vandal Savage throughout time.” Very interesting.
The Flash and Arrow return to The CW in October, while DC’s Legends of Tomorrow premieres early next year.
