DC Announces Their New Movie Line Up Including: WONDER WOMAN 2 & FLASHPOINT

During Warner Brothers’ Comic-Con panel, DC took the stage and teased their upcoming film schedule. We got confirmation that Wonder Woman 2, Suicide Squad 2, The Batman, Green Lantern Corps, Shazam!, and Batgirl will be the next line up of DC films. It’ll be interesting to see what happens in a post-Justice League DC Universe. The biggest announcement of the day was that they are developing a Flashpoint movie.

For those who don’t know, The Flashpoint Paradox is a Flash story written by DC Head Geoff Johns. It focuses on The Flash changing time. The Flash saves his mother from being murdered, which changes the entire course of time. This leads to huge changes in the DC Universe. Thomas Wayne is now Batman and Bruce Wayne is the one who was killed, Superman was never taken in by the Kent’s, the Amazons and Atlanteans cause World War III, and that’s just a fraction of what happened. It’s a pretty epic story. I don’t see how they make this the first movie but we’ll see. Flashpoint was also adapted for The CW’s third season of The Flash.

Will Flashpoint be a way to reboot the franchise? With rumors of Ben Affleck wanting to leave the Batman role, this could be an easy way to recast some of the actors. It’s also a way to change DC’s grim and dower tone. Something Geoff Johns has talked about doing in the past. We don’t know what implications Flashpoint will have on the DC Extended Universe [if any], but we can’t wait to see what happens.

The other films mentioned above are ones we already knew were in development, and unfortunately, we have no new information on them. But which one are you most excited for? Do you think Flashpoint is a good idea or would rather have a smaller scale movie first? Let us know @WatchtowerBabel on Twitter! For more news on the DCEU and everything DC, stay tuned!
