Dwayne Johnson Offers BLACK ADAM Production Update, Teases DC Universe Cameos

Last we heard on the Black Adam movie, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson said that production could start sometime next year. Well, it looks like that’s still the plan, but it may not be quite as soon as we’ve expected.
Speaking with Filmstarts, Johnson says that Black Adam could “possibly” start production in late 2019. He explains that he’s shooting Jumanji 3 early next year, then Red Notice with Gal Gadot. But after that, if all goes to plan, he could do Black Adam after.  He goes on to say that he’s very happy with how the script is turning out, and it’s an exciting time for DC Films’ universe, even in the midst of its reconfiguration.
Speaking of which, Johnson teases that Black Adam might have “a cameo or two” from other DC superheroes. He (unsurprisingly) doesn’t name them here, but we have some ideas. Superman was rumored for this movie a while back, while Shazam would be an obvious choice. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman is DC’s biggest character right now and would surely boost other movies. Plus, Gal Gadot and The Rock have worked together multiple times. But, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Stay tuned for more as we have it.
