SUPERGIRL: Potential Story Details, Villain
No matter your thoughts about the potential for a Supergirl movie, it clearly is going to happen by the looks of it. While we have no idea who’s playing her, we might have some story nuggets. According to Superbromovies’ DanielRPK, the movies appear to go half/half. According to him, the movie is going to spend a good chunk of it on Krypton and a good chunk on earth, with the time period being the 1970s. The villain? That’s apparently going to be Brainiac. BREAKING: Henry Cavill Appears to be Out as Superman
UPDATE 1: Warner Bros. issued a statement about Cavill, saying “While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged” UPDATE 2: A follow-up report from TMZ claims the firestorm generated by this story is an “invented conflict,” and that “Cavill along with others would be in play” when Superman returns to the silver screen. Reed Morano Reportedly at the Top of SUPERGIRL Director Shortlist
It was recently revealed that a Supergirl movie is in development at Warner Bros. and DC Films. Writer Oren Uziel is working on the script, while the studio is said to be keen on hiring a female director. Now, it looks like we know who the studio wants to take the helm. According to The GWW, filmmaker Reed Morano is at the top of WB’s shortlist to direct Supergirl. No offer has been made, and it’s unclear if any meetings have happened yet. Other names on the list are currently unknown. But if the studio is already looking at directors, then they’re probably planning on getting this movie out sooner…
