An X-23 Spin-off Movie is in the Works

Logan remains near the top of the list when it comes to best films of the year. It surpassed all critical and box office expectations, transcending what a superhero movie can be. After the huge success of Logan, director James Mangold is back to work. He’s currently writing a spinoff for Laura aka X-23.

We don’t have hardly any details as of now, but In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Mangold said the following: We’re working on a script. The story would take place after Logan and will have breakout star Dafne Keen reprising her role. Mangold believes that films like Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman [another film that changed the superhero genre] will help us get more female lead stories. He said: Patty’s success with that film only solidifies more for studios that there’s less to fear with a female protagonist.The more that keeps getting hit home, that ends up giving me more space turning around and going, ‘Well, here we are with a female protagonist. That’s incredible. And what are we going to do with her?’ And that’s where we are with that [the Laura script] right now, dreaming.

The film might still be in the development stage, but if Mangold wants a sequel, I’m sure Fox will give him a sequel. Hopefully, it won’t be a dream for long. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
