Next March will finally see the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in theaters. To celebrate this event, DC Comics will publish variant covers, inspired by the film, for several ongoing series. Via Comic Book Resources, ten comic book series are set to receive polybagged variant covers pulled directly from the Batman v Superman marketing campaign. It’s no secret that Warner Brothers seems to be fond of team-up films when it comes to the DC Cinematic Universe. Suicide Squad actor Ike Barinholtz recently appeared on The Howard Stern Show (via Batman-News), and naturally, the subject of the DC supervillain film came up. Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes (via Variety) weighed in on Warner Bros.’ upcoming film slate at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference today. Despite a disappointing 2015, the studio is expected to have a very successful 2016. In addition to bringing the Harry Potter series back with spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, WB will be formally launching the DC Extended Universe with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. It is inevitable that major characters from The Flash and Arrow will guest star on the third series, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. Green Arrow, Flash and Black Canary are confirmed, with more on the way.
