DC Announces Streaming Service Title, Adds SWAMP THING Series to Slate
DC Entertainment has announced some preliminary details on its streaming service, which will include a slew of exclusive original shows. The service is called DC Universe, and it promises to be the “ultimate” membership for DC fans. Called a unique digital experience, DC Universe will give fans unlimited access to its original shows. So far, the shows include the live action Titans and the animated shows Young Justice: Outsiders and Harley Quinn. And now, DC has announced a fourth title: Swamp Thing. YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS Finishes Voice Recording
Our favorite teenage heroes are close to return. We haven’t heard much about Young Justice: Outsiders recently, but Khary Payton, voice of Aqualad, confirmed at C2E2 (via Heroic Hollywood) that voice recording of 26 episodes was complete, and that the animation process was in the works. He said about the show – “It is as twisty, and turny, and full of so many characters, I can’t wait for you guys to see it. DC Adds Superman Prequel Series METROPOLIS to Streaming Service
DC Entertainment is prepping to launch its own streaming service, which will include original content. Titans and Young Justice: Outsiders are premiering sometime this year, while an animated Harley Quinn series is also in the works. Now, a fourth show has entered development. Warner Bros. has announced that a new 13-episode series titled Metropolis is coming to DC’s streaming service. The show, which takes place before Superman’s arrival, focuses on Lois Lane and Lex Luthor in a fringe science investigation-type story. DC fans have been hungry for live-action Titans news, and That Hashtag Show continues to deliver. In an exclusive from That Hashtag Show, they revealed a casting call snippet showing that the new show’s Big Bad™ will be Acolyte. The Acolyte – Male. African-American 40-50. Confident. The villain of our story. He is after Rachel and her powers, trying to kidnap her after he murders her mother. So before we dig in, allow me to eat crow for a second. Ask anyone here at WOBAM Entertainment and they will tell you I said last fall that the DC/CW-Verse would never crossover with Supergirl. Morena Baccarin Voicing Gideon In THE FLASH; Sin Returning To ARROW This Season
We have a couple of updates concerning two characters featured on The Flash and Arrow. First up, TV Line has confirmed that actress Morena Baccarin is voicing Gideon in the former series. The AI assistant of Harrison Wells made her debut in this week’s episode. Baccarin is no stranger to the DC Universe; she has voiced characters such as Black Canary, Talia al Ghul and Cheetah. She is also playing Dr. Leslie Thompkins in Gotham, beginning early next year. Don’t be surprised if we see plenty more of Gideon throughout the rest of The Flash this season.
