STARGIRL Series Coming to DC Universe
We have news of a fourth live action show coming to the DC Universe streaming service! Stargirl will be the show, with Sarah Scheer, Greg Berlanti and Geoff Johns to produce. Berlanti and Johns will write the scripts up for the show, with it having 13 episodes in total. The show will air at some point in 2019, and will focus on high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires a group of young heroes to stop villains from the past. This week, DC officially unveiled its forthcoming digital service, DC Universe. At the heart of the platform is a slate of original shows, beginning this year with Titans. DC Entertainment has finally shared some details on its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. And based on the announcement, it sounds like a must for any DC fan. DC Universe will be anchored by original shows, beginning with this year’s Titans. 2019 will see the arrivals of four more shows – Young Justice: Outsiders, Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing, and Doom Patrol. But in addition to the originals, DC Universe will feature the company’s older movies and television shows, both live action and animated. James Wan Reportedly Set to Co-Direct SWAMP THING Pilot
Last month, it was announced that DC is developing a new Swamp Thing show for its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. One very interesting thing is that it is being executive produced by James Wan, who directs DC Films’ next title, Aquaman. Now, it looks like Wan will have another role to play. According to That Hashtag Show, Wan is on board to direct the Swamp Thing pilot alongside Deran Sarafian. While Sarafian doesn’t have the blockbuster experience than Wan has, he has a history of directing for television, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and House. DOOM PATROL Series in the Works at DC Universe
Later this year, DC Entertainment will launch its long-awaited streaming service, DC Universe. The platform will be home to several original shows, such as Titans, Swamp Thing, Metropolis, and the animated shows Harley Quinn and Young Justice: Outsiders. Now, a sixth show has been revealed. DC has announced that a Doom Patrol series is in development at DC Universe. The service made a 13-episode straight-to-series order. Production will begin this year for a 2019 release. Today, we have good news on Legion, two new regulars on Riverdale, a director for The Boys, hints at Constantine’s new role on Legends of Tomorrow, and confirmation of a character on Titans.
