GLASS on Track for $45-50 Million Opening Weekend
M. Night Shyamalan concludes his superhero trilogy this weekend with Glass, which combines Unbreakable and Split into a long-awaited sequel. After strong marketing, the film was on track to open in the $50-70 million range. However, early reviews have been mixed at best, which could impact box office legs. Now, latest tracking suggests a slight underperformance. Glass is now tracking to open in the $45-50 million range over the four-day MLK weekend. AVENGERS: ENDGAME Headlines Fandango’s Most Anticipated Movies of 2019
Fandango has released its annual survey, where moviegoers are surveyed on their most anticipated movies of 2019. And unsurprisingly, Marvel Studios is headlining it with its most anticipated blockbuster yet. Avengers: Endgame tops the Most Anticipated Movie category, followed by Marvel’s Captain Marvel in second place. Other names included are M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, DC’s Joker, and Star Wars: Episode IX. Comic book movies have also dominated Fandango’s other categories. Captain Marvel star Brie Larson is the Most Anticipated Actress of 2019, while Endgame’s Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans are among the Most Anticipated Actors. First GLASS Trailer Drops at San Diego Comic-Con
At San Diego Comic-Con last night, director M. Night Shyamalan shared the trailer for his highly anticipated sequel Glass, which brings Unbreakable and Split together. The films, inspired by comic books and superheroes, will complete the Eastrail 177 trilogy. The new trailer shows plenty of new footage from Glass, pitting David Dunn against Kevin Wendell Crumb and placing Mr. Glass at the center of it.
