Behind The Scenes on BLOODSHOT: Updates, Nerd Bosses, and a Sweet First Look
We’re just over a year away from Vailant Comics’ first silver screen adaptation: Bloodshot. Staring Vin Diesel and a whole host of other people, Bloodshot focuses on a memory wiped supersoldier and the secretive organization who spawned him. The 2020 film, written by Eric Heisserer and directed by Dave Wilson, is highly anticipated by yours truly. So it’s with great delight that the man, the myth, the legend, Dinesh Shamdasani, has been dropping all manner of juicy news bits on the project the last few weeks. Welcome back to another edition of Movie News Bits! Today, we’re talking about Valiant Comics! First up, we have some news that Sony is developing a Faith superhero movie. The “Faith” comics center around a regular geeky teenager named Faith Herbert, who’s obsessed with comics and science fiction, and has the powers of telekinesis and flight. Lamorne Morris has been cast in Bloodshot, for the role of Wilfred Wigans! Wigans is a young scientist, who becomes Bloodshot’s unlikely ally. Morris joins Eiza Gonzalez, Sam Heughan, Talulah Riley, Alex Hernandez, and Toby Kebbell. Dave Wilson is attached to currently direct, and if Bloodshot makes it past the first film, Morris is supposedly still attached to the series for two more films. Johannes Haukur…

BLOODSHOT Picks Up a Villainous Toby Kebbell
It’s just another day for the Bloodshot news train, as the Valiant Entertainment film picks up steam on its way to a 2019 release. Vin Diesel stars as the title character, while Eiza González, Michael Sheen, Sam Heughan, Talulah Riley and Alex Hernandez have all joined in supporting roles. And after much anticipation, we finally have some news on our villain. The Wrap reports that actor Toby Kebbell (Warcraft, Fantastic Four, Ben Hur) has joined the cast as “Axe.” Not much is known about this interpretation of the character, but “Ax” (also known as @x) has been a fixture of the Harbinger comics from the earliest days of Valiant. Valiant Entertainment’s Bloodshot movie is kicking into highgear! Set for release by Sony, written by Eric Heisserer (Arrival), and directed by special effects wizard Dave Wilson, the production is shaping up to be a must-see reminiscent of the first Iron Man film. Vin Diesel is set to play the title character, while Eiza González, Michael Sheen, and Sam Heughan have all joined the cast in supporting roles. Sony is moving forward with its Bloodshot adaptation, which kicks off the studio’s shared universe based on Valiant Comics. Vin Diesel is starring, with Dave Wilson attached to direct. Now, we have some more casting news. According to Variety, actors Eiza González, Michael Sheen, and Sam Heughan are in talks to join the cast of Bloodshot. Their potential characters are currently unknown. Bloodshot, the first of a five-movie plan, is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2019. Valiant Entertainment Snags Joe Illidge for Executive Editor
Valiant Entertainment has been a whirlwind of business news lately. Hot on the heels of a their acquisition by DMG Entertainment and the exit of CEO Dinesh Shamdasani, Valiant has been looking to bolster their team for the long haul. With several movies in active development, a new editor in Karl Bollers, and Vin Diesel training to portray Bloodshot, Valiant wants to be the next big thing in entertainment. It’s been a long road getting Valiant Comics on the big screen. After years of preparation, false starts, and heavy competition from other comics powerhouses, Valiant Comics is finally coming in for the home run stretch.
