Robert Downey Jr. to Produce Vertigo Comic Adaptation SWEET TOOTH for Hulu
The Iron Man himself is set to play in the DC Comics sandbox. Not as an actor though (although who knows at this point?). Robert and his wife’s Susan production company called Team Downey and Jim Mickle are working on an adaption on Sweet Tooth for Hulu. Often known as Bambi meets Mad Max, Sweet Tooth is a comic published by DC Comics through their Vertigo imprint. It follows a humanoid boy called Gus who is part deer, part human living in a post-apocalyptic world. Are you intrigued? IRON FIST, KRYPTON and LUCIFER Are Returning to San Diego Comic-Con 2018
We’re a month away from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. This week, we have confirmation of three shows making their presence known at the convention. According to Deadline, Marvel and Netflix are bringing Iron Fist to SDCC. Star Finn Jones will show up alongside other cast members and producers to discuss the show’s second season, which is scheduled to arrive sometime this year. There is also talk of bringing Daredevil and The Punisher to the panel; the former just wrapped production on its third season, while the latter is shooting its second. LUCIFER Will Return, as Netflix Picks Up Show for Season 4
After three seasons, Vertigo adaptation Lucifer was cancelled by Fox. This led to much outcry from fans, who immediately started campaigning for another network to pick it up. The CW showed little interest, while Amazon said there were talks about a revival. Now, the world’s largest streaming service is here to the rescue. The CW Renews iZOMBIE for Season 5
Last month, The CW gave early renewals to the bulk of its programming slate, including the DC television shows and Riverdale. However, there were a few shows that haven’t been decided on until recently, and the network is renewing or cancelling them. Fortunately, one fan-favorite show made the cut. The CW has confirmed (via TV Line) that iZombie has been renewed for a fifth season. The midseason show, based on the Vertigo comic book, didn’t return until late February this year, and fans have speculated if it was going to get renewed again. Fox Cancels LUCIFER After Three Seasons
Television networks are currently announcing renewals or cancellations for their shows, as the 2018-2019 schedules come together. One network is Fox, which has already cancelled several shows, including Brooklyn-Nine-Nine. The latest decision marks the end of fan-favorite Vertigo adaptation Lucifer.
