GAMBIT Gets a 2019 Release Date

Fox is looking to strike gold once again! After Deadpool smashed box office records last year, the studio is hoping Gambit will have the same kind of success. The film is scheduled to release on February 14th, 2019. With a director in place and Tatum ready to star things should start ramping up fairly soon.

With a Valentine’s Day release, is it possible that Gambit will be more of a romance movie? After all, Deadpool had the same February spot and was at its core a love story. It could and we have reason to believe it will be. Gambit is a character that has multiple love interest, but his origin involves him getting married to Bella Donna Boudreaux. Their marriage was supposed to make peace between the Thieves’ Guild and their rivals, the Assassins’ Guild. This leads to other things that I won’t talk about here, but I’d say it’s worth exploring. There’s a lot they can take from this story. He also has a thing with Rogue so that’s something they can explore. There’s also a possibility that it just opens on February 14th, and it means absolutely nothing. Only time will tell.

Hopefully, Gambit is something different. It seems like the X-Men are better when things get weird. More films like Deadpool and Logan and less like X-Men: Apocalypse. If The New Mutants are any indication, then Gambit should be something interesting at the very least. For more on Gambit and the rest of the X-Men, stay tuned.
