Next week’s episode of Arrow, titled “Deathstroke”, promises to be one of the series’ most intense installments yet. The following week will be another hiatus, but things will pick back up on April 16th with S2E19, “The Man Under the Hood”. The CW has released the official logline for this episode, teasing another clash between Oliver and Slade. If you did not watch this week’s Arrow or the “Deathstroke” preview, the following may be a bit spoilerific. This week’s Son of Batman image from @SuperPRGuy has hit. The latest still from DC’s next animated feature offers a first look at Dr. Kirk Langstrom, voiced by 24 actor Xander Berkeley. In Son of Batman and the “Batman and Son” comic which it adapts, Langstrom is no longer Man-Bat, but the Man-Bat serum does play a key role in the story. Before Ben Affleck was cast as Batman for 2016’s Man of Steel follow-up, Josh Brolin was reportedly a frontrunner for the highly coveted role. He later confirmed that he was approached, but couldn’t iron out a deal. Now, speaking with Yahoo!, the Labor Day star comments on his being up for Batman yet again. He said that he did meet with director Zack Snyder, but the two apparently didn’t have the same vision for Batman’s portrayal. “Me and Zack had a conversation about it. Back in 2011, NBC and David E. Kelly were developing a new Wonder Woman television series, starring Adrianne Palicki as Diana Prince. However, the network passed on the pilot, killing any plans for a full season. Aftewards, The CW attempted to produce its own Wonder Woman series, titled Amazon. That would have focused on Diana’s origins in a Smallville-esque show. That series was canned earlier this year, before any serious development was made. In the meantime, Wonder Woman will finally make her presence felt on the big screen, as Gal Gadot will play Diana in 2016’s Batman vs. Superman. 2014 marks the 75th anniversary of unarguably one of the greatest fictional characters of all time, Batman. The Dark Knight made his debut in Detective Comics #27 back in 1939, and has since become an icon frequently seen on film, television, video games, and comics. Today, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have announced their plans for celebrating this monumental achievement. There will be a number of 75th Anniversary events, as well as a “Cape/Cowl/Create” art exhibit. 2014 will also see the release of the Batman: Arkham Knight video game, two animated features, the premiere of Gotham, and of course, the start of production for the character’s next big screen outing,…

So far, we’ve seen Gotham character portraits for Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee), and Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). Today’s promo image finally puts the spotlight on the series’ protagonist, James Gordon (Ben McKenzie). In Gotham, Gordon is a newly appointed detective in the Gotham PD, and hopes to restore the city. In the pilot, he teams with Bullock to investigate the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne. Speaking with Collider, David S. Goyer spoke about his approach to adapting characters in scripts such as Batman vs. Superman, for which he wrote the original draft. This one features Oswald Cobblepot, aka The Penguin, played by Robin Lord Taylor. In Gotham, Cobblepot is a criminal who works for Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). Earlier this year, Dwayne Johnson confirmed that he was planning to team up with DC Entertainment for an unspecified project in 2014. Naturally, plenty of rumors and speculation surrounded his role in the DC Cinematic Universe. The most frequently rumored choice has been Green Lantern John Stewart, whom “The Rock” is a huge fan of. Arrow‘s Manu Bennett was present at Megacon in Orlando, Florida, where the Slade Wilson actor talked in detail about playing the character. The most interesting question asked Bennett if there was a possibility of Slade teaming up with Malcolm Merlyn, should he survive his showdown with Oliver Queen later this season. Bennett affirmed that he does not know how the season will end, as the finale has yet to be written.
