Despite his death in Avengers: Infinity War, everyone’s favorite Friendly Neighborhood Web-Slinger is back in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Today, Sony has released the first trailer for the sequel, which will see Peter Parker travelling to Europe. We also get a first look at the Elementals, as well as Jake Gyllenhaal‘s Mysterio. AVENGERS: ENDGAME Headlines Fandango’s Most Anticipated Movies of 2019
Fandango has released its annual survey, where moviegoers are surveyed on their most anticipated movies of 2019. And unsurprisingly, Marvel Studios is headlining it with its most anticipated blockbuster yet. Avengers: Endgame tops the Most Anticipated Movie category, followed by Marvel’s Captain Marvel in second place. Other names included are M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, DC’s Joker, and Star Wars: Episode IX. Comic book movies have also dominated Fandango’s other categories. Captain Marvel star Brie Larson is the Most Anticipated Actress of 2019, while Endgame’s Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans are among the Most Anticipated Actors. Sony Sets IMAX Releases for SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME and MEN IN BLACK Spinoff
Following the box office success of Venom, Sony is strengthening its relationship with IMAX. The two companies have signed their first long-term collaboration, which will see the release of multiple Sony movies in IMAX theaters worldwide. As part of the deal, IMAX will screen Spider-Man: Far From Home and the Men in Black spinoff next summer. The third Jumanji movie is also part of the deal. Composer Michael Giacchino has collaborated a few times with Marvel Studios in recent years. He created the scores for Doctor Strange and Spider-Man: Homecoming, while he composed the theme for Marvel’s current opening logo. Now, he’s returning to the MCU for his next big project. My spider sense is sensing something. It’s some news about Spider-Man: Far From Home. Unless Numan Acar trolled us all with Instagram hashtags, it looks like we have got some indirect confirmation of a few actors. Namely Jack Gyllenhaal (Mysterio), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill). This post is the first time we heard Maria Hill in the mix of names for this particular film. More casting news for the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, Spider-Man: Far From Home! Numan Acar is set to join the film to play a character named Dimitri. Spider-Man:Far From Home is supposed to be released July 5 2019. No word on any other details about the character, but in the comics, there is a character named Dimitri Smerdyakov, the Chameleon. Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Far From Home recently began production. We hadn’t heard too much about casting for new characters, beyond Jake Gyllenhaal being in talks to play the villain Mysterio. However, that’s about to change, and we have a new addition to the sequel’s cast. According to Deadline, Curb Your Enthusiasm actor J.B. Smoove has joined Spider-Man: Far From Home.
