Legacy of the Superman Part 3: Animation
Superman is the first superhero ever created. He’s the reason DC Comics are where they are today. Being the world’s biggest hero, Superman has appeared in numerous animated adventures. Today, we’re going to look at a brief history at the Man of Tomorrow’s life in animation. We’ll start by going to his first debut on television. Before his movies and live-action series, Superman starred in a few animated shorts in 1941. These 10 minutes episodes were created by Dave and Max Fleischer, creators of Popeye and Betty Boop. This series still holds up remarkably well and can be enjoyed by almost anyone. It stays true to the character, showing him…

Review: SUPERMAN/BATMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES
What would happen if Lex Luthor became president of the United States and made Superman and Batman America’s most wanted? That’s the question Superman/Batman: Public Enemies attempts to answer. Does it do the World’s Finest justice or does fail miserably? Let’s find out! The film picks up in the middle of the action. We learn that Lex Luthor has become president of the United States and the crime rate has dropped significantly. Things are going great… Aside from the giant kryptonite meteor headed straight for Earth. This film feels like it’s the finale of Superman: The Animated Series, and that’s both a good thing and a bad thing. On one hand, it makes the assumption that…

Review: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
A superhero film set in during World War II, a hero with a big heart, and the drive to help anyone that he can. In a nutshell that’s what I love about Captain America: The First Avenger. I would stop there, but I can’t end this review in just 37 words. The First Avenger tells us the story of Steve Rodgers (Chris Evans), a man who wants to “help the little guy”. He tries to enlist in the Army and fight in the war, but he’s too frail, sickly, and weak to do anything. Luckily, he gets a chance; a chance at being the world’s first Super Soldier. He becomes…

Retrospective: IRON MAN – 10 Years Later
We never truly understood what a superhero movie could be until the first Iron Man film hit theaters in 2008. We had classic films like Superman: The Movie, Batman ’89, Spider-Man, and Batman Begins; but none ever attempted to do what Iron Man did. Iron Man dared to try something that has rarely been done. It gave us a flawed hero. In the films mentioned above the heroes face challenges, and at times things seem to look insurmountable. Aside from Batman Begins, most superhero films make sure our heroes are pure. Whether they’re saving cats from trees or damsels in distress, one thing is clear, they’re the good guys. In…

Review: BLACK PANTHER THE SERIES
With Black Panther coming to theaters in just a matter of days, we thought now would be a good time to talk about his time on the small screen, with Black Panther the series. For those who don’t know, Black Panther had a short-lived animated series (six episodes) on BET in 2010. Is the series worth checking out or is it a complete waste of time? Well, let’s find out! The story is quite simple, T’Challa (Djimon Hounsou) has to take the throne after his father’s assassination. The royal court is jealous because they were leading Wakanda until T’Challa came of age. Meanwhile, Klaw (Stephen Stanton), the man who killed…

Five Actors Who Should Be Considered For Nightwing
Robin is one of the most well-known characters in all of comics. Starring alongside Batman, leading the Teen Titans, and even leading his own series as Nightwing; it only for him to get his own film. Lead by The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay, Dick Grayson will return to the big screen. Plenty of actors can bring the former Boy Wonder to life, but for now, we’ve narrowed down a list of 5 actors we think are best for the role. #5: Lewis Tan At number five is Lewis Tan. He’s relatively new compared to other actors on the list, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be considered. He’s…

Mid-Season Recap: ARROW Season 6
We’re back to talk about Arrow season six! We last left off, with Oliver getting [mostly] everyone off of Lian Yu, Slade going on a quest to find his son, and Green Arrow’s identity being revealed. A reminder that this is a spoiler recap so come back later if you’re not caught up. We also can’t cover every single detail. If I miss anything (likely) sorry in advance. So with that out of the way – let’s get into it. Ollie has to deal with being under investigation as his identity was revealed in the previous episode. The show episode ends with the picture being fake, but that doesn’t stop Agent…
