Review: SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
Spider-Man: Homecoming is a big film for the character. Spider-Man was not in a good place after The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with many (including myself) wondering how would they recover. Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures managed to come to an agreement where both studios co-produce a Spider-Man film set in the MCU. The internet freaked out. Finally, Spider-Man can fight alongside other heroes like Iron Man and Captain America. Here we are two years later and that moment is finally here; Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Does Spider-Man: Homecoming live up to…

Fox Sets Director and Returning Cast for X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX; Jessica Chastain in Talks to Play Villain
After much speculation, 20th Century Fox confirmed last month that the next main X-Men movie will re-adapt the “Dark Phoenix” storyline. The story was previously adapted in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, but it was crammed into a movie that was dealing with a mutant cure subplot and, frankly, didn’t do the original story justice. Since then, creatives involved with the franchise expressed interest in revisiting the storyline. Now, we have confirmation of a director and cast. After months of rumors, Deadline confirms that Simon Kinberg will direct X-Men: Dark Phoenix. This will serve as Kinberg’s directorial debut, but he has served as a screenwriter and producer on multiple X-Men…

Geoff Johns Reaffirms The Optimistic Approach To DC Films
The DC Extended Universe was in a pretty rough spot. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad split audiences, and many were wondering if Warner Bros. should just try again with a reboot. Some said the movies are too dark, depressing, and an overall grim look on the DC world. Warner Brothers needed to look inward and see what needed to change. After the success of Wonder Woman, it seems they’ve done a complete turnaround. The Wrap spoke with DC Entertainment President Geoff Johns and their apparent rebirth. Johns’ said: “Get to the essence of the character and make the movies fun. Just make sure that the characters are…
