Marc Guggenheim Explains How ARROW Will Utilize Flashbacks After Season 5
Arrow is well known for its incorporation of flashback scenes in almost every episode. Usually, these flashbacks would focus on Oliver Queen’s five-year journey before his return to Starling City in season one. However, over the last couple seasons, the flashbacks became uninteresting, especially when there was no connection to the present-day timeline. Yesterday, it was confirmed that the main flashback storyline will conclude in Arrow‘s fifth season. However, assuming the show is renewed for season six, flashbacks won’t go away forever. The CW Confirms Episode Orders for Next Season’s DC Shows
We got plenty of DC television news during The CW’s panel at the Television Critics Association (TCA) tour today. Here’s another tidbit from the presentation, courtesy of Deadline. During the panel, the network confirmed the episode numbers for its 2016-2017 slate, including the five DC/Vertigo shows. Supergirl (Season 2), The Flash (Season 3) and Arrow (Season 5) all have 22 episode orders for this season. Supergirl had 20 episodes during its first season on CBS, while Flash and Arrow both had 23 in their prior seasons. CW Seed Announces New Animated DC Show, FREEDOM FIGHTERS: THE RAY
In addition to the four live action shows, The CW has an animated DC series, Vixen, on the CW Seed app. Now, a second show for the format has been announced, further expanding the universe created by Arrow. At TCA 2016 today (via TV Line), The CW unveiled a new animated series – Freedom Fighters: The Ray, based on the DC Comics hero of the same name. Mirror Master is Finally Coming to THE FLASH in Season 3
The Flash introduced many of the character’s famous rogues during its first two seasons. So far, the show has featured Weather Wizard, Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold, Trickster and many more. But one villain that has been noticeably absent is Mirror Master. Well, this character is finally confirmed to be popping up on the series next season. Warner Bros. The first DC film scheduled for release after Justice League is The Flash, starring Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster. Rick Famuyiwa will direct the movie, which will co-star Kiersey Clemons as Iris West. Seth Grahame-Smith wrote the script. Now, we know when and where the film will begin shooting. According to On Location Vacations, production on The Flash will commence in January. Filming will take place in London, where Justice League is currently shooting. Wonder Woman also spent some time in the UK during production. The Flash was previously slated for a March 16th, 2018 release date.
