WOBAM! Entertainment is Back and Better Than Ever
In April 2019, we at WOBAM! Entertainment disbanded our writing team, marking the end of the website. It was a mutual decision based on where our professional and personal lives were at the time, among other factors. Of course, in the world of comic books and fantasy characters, death is not always a permanent thing. And now, based on mutual interest from everyone on our team, the same can be said for our website. We are thrilled to announce the revival of WOBAM! Entertainment. The site will return with new posts covering fandom’s biggest topics. However, there will be some key differences from our old approach. Specifically, we will be…

THE POWER OF FANDOM – A WOBAM Story
There was an idea, Stark knows this, called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, see if they could become something more. Nick Fury That was Marvel’s The Avengers, and while this story is nowhere near as grand, it saved my life. From the outside WOBAM! Entertainment might seem like your typical nerd blog. We covered everything from news, reviews, editorials, and even a podcast. That’s not even close to what WOBAM was. It was a family. Paul Romano began to this project alone but somehow cultivated a culture so pure and welcoming that no matter who came and went, it still was…

OFFICIAL: The End of WOBAM! Entertainment
To say the least, WOBAM! Entertainment has been one heck of a journey. In late 2013, I launched the first iteration, Watchtower of Babel News. Then, in 2017, I kicked off sister site Astonishing Marvels, before merging the sites together a year later. After much time and energy spent putting it together, the WOBAM! Entertainment site is what it is today. I can’t go any further without giving a heartfelt thank you to every single person who has ever been involved with WOBAM. I have worked with so many amazing writers, and we launched a great podcast series. I have developed many incredible friendships as a result of our collaboration.…

Review: THE PUNISHER Season 2 (2019)
Frank strives to protect a teenager caught in a sinister conspiracy while doing whatever it takes — and then some — to end Russo once and for all. Netflix unleashed the latest live action portrayal of The Punisher in 2017, after his acclaimed role on Daredevil. Netflix quickly ordered a second season, which has arrived at a curious time for the company’s Marvel slate. Three shows – Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil – have all been cancelled, while plans for another season of The Defenders are unlikely. So, fans are likely anxious about Frank Castle‘s future. Fortunately, if this really is the end, then The Punisher‘s second season is a solid,…

History of the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES
2019 marks the 35th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! The fearsome foursome has been kicking shell for three decades. Today, we’re going to be taking a look back at their long and unorthodox history. The Comics The TMNT made their comic debut in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 in May of 1984. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Ninja Turtles served as a parody of the comics that came before. You can see the influence the New Mutants and Daredevil had on the TMNT. Daredevil fights the Hand, the Ninja Turtles fight the Foot, Daredevil’s master is Stick, the Ninja Turtles master is Splinter. They also…

TAKING A STAND: Why We Will Not Be Covering Bryan Singer’s RED SONJA (Or His Future Endeavors)
It’s not everyday that we, the staff of WOBAM! Entertainment, face a moral quandary. But in light of resurfaced allegations against X-Men director Bryan Singer, we feel compelled to draw some necessary lines. Bryan Singer (Superman Returns, Bohemian Rhapsody) currently faces multiple accusations of sexual misconduct against a minor. These are serious accusations that the media has largely ignored; past allegations and a 2017 lawsuit against Singer were swept under the rug, and we were fast made to forget about them. Then the Me Too movement happened, and those allegations slowly resurfaced. Now this week, an expose by The Atlantic tells a darker picture of his escapades. As a comic…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×11- “Seeing Red”
The Flash (5×11)- “Seeing Red” Written by: Judalina Neira & Thomas Pound Directed by: Marcus Stokes From “The Flash and the Furious” to “Seeing Red.” Interesting progression. We open on Cicada and the anti-meta-human movement seems to be gaining steam. Someone in the CCPD leaked names and addresses of metas to his doctor friend and this lets him knock off a lot of metas in quick succession which brings Team Flash running and that’s where things go haywire when Cicada breaks Nora’s back. This episode kind of reminds people that while Barry is so packed full of Hope he could easily replace Adara as the embodiment of Hope in the…

A WOBAM Thanksgiving
Hi, everyone! It’s been a while, but in the spirit of the holidays and reminiscing on joining WOBAM Entertainment, I’d like to reflect on the online community I’ve become a part of in the past 2 years, and how I’m beyond thankful for being able to join in. I know for a fact that we here at WOBAM are all tremendously thankful for our readers.
