VENOM Sets Record-Breaking Opening in China, Nears $700 Million Worldwide
Venom is still going strong, and this weekend, it finally opened in China, where it has had a record-breaking opening weekend. The Sony Marvel movie is opening with an estimated $111 million, which is one of the biggest movie debuts in China’s history. It is the second biggest superhero opening, behind Avengers: Infinity War‘s $191 million, while it is Sony’s largest debut in the country. And sure enough, this is giving the movie a huge boost in its box office. Venom is now at $206.2 million domestically and $467.3 million overseas, bringing its worldwide total to $673.5 million. That number is bound to go higher as it continues in China…

Review: POKEMON CRYSTAL
Pokemon Crystal is the second generations’ answer to Pokemon Yellow (although Yellow was closer to the anime than what Crystal was). Just like before, you play as an avatar who gets access to a Pokemon, so that you can take on the gym leader challenge while stopping an evil organization along the way. Outside of introducing more Pokemon and two new types (steel and dark), the second generation added new mechanics. Day and Night Cycles A mechanic that is what you think it is. The game has its own day/night interaction with it being day and night in the game depending on what time you chose at the start. The…

Rumor: Character for HBO’s WATCHEMEN Revealed?
If you are a fan of Watchmen, be it the comic by Alan Moore or the film adaptation by Zack Snyder, you are more likely aware that HBO is doing a Watchmen TV show. Outside of some actors being part of the cast, we don’t know much about the show. If Slashfilm is right, we now know when it takes place. I say when because according to them, the legendary actor Jeremy Irons is playing an older Adrian Veidt also known as Ozymandias. However, their report doesn’t stop there. According to them, Jean Smart (who isn’t a stranger to comic book considering her role in Legion) According to them, Smart…

The Next KINGSMAN Movie Won’t Include Eggsy
If where you were hoping Taron Edgerton was returning as the street kid turned super spy Eggsy, I have some bad news for you. The upcoming Robin Hood star confirmed that during an interview with Yahoo UK. He insists that, while he isn’t part of the third installment, that doesn’t close the door to suit up some more and talk about how manners make the man. Considering the third installment is meant to be a prequel that takes during World War I, it might not be so shocking after all that Eggsy isn’t involved. What do you guys think of all this? REVIEW: POKEMON YELLOW
This review is part of our 7 Days of Pokemon Games. Click here for more WOBAM awesome. On February 27, 1996, a new franchise was about to take the world by storm. Nobody knew what to think of it. Would it fly away as quickly as it appeared, or make a mark like an alien with a cornfield? Here we are now, twenty-two years later and the franchise is still going strong. If Red and Blue were the first, why am I reviewing Yellow and not either Red or Blue? It boils down to a few things. The first is, Yellow is the only game that I own of the “original three”…

STAR WARS Character Cassian Andor Getting His Own Show on Disney Streaming Service
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story introduced many new characters to the universe, such as Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna). Unfortunately, like every other new character, Cassian died at the end. But it looks like we’ll be seeing more of him in the franchise’s future. It has been announced that a series starring Cassian Andor is heading to Disney+, the studio’s newly titled streaming service. Diego Luna will reprise the role. The “rousing spy thriller” will follow Cassian’s adventures in the formative years of the Rebellion and before the events of Rogue One. No release date yet. Luna had this to say about returning to a galaxy far, far…

DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY Trailer #3 Released
IGN has released a third (and final?) trailer for the upcoming movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly. In this trailer, we get some more tidbits of the action, and I can say right up front. Dragon Ball should stay animated. I mean, the amount of destruction that appears to be in the movie is just glorious. What do you think about the latest trailer? Did you like it? Did you dislike it? Comment below and let us know or tweet at us at @WOBAMEnt. Source: IGN

Why Tom King’s ‘Batman’ Is The Best Superhero Comic Out
What makes a great superhero comic? It’s a tough question. You can look back through the decades and a few really standout: Bendis’ Ultimate Spider-Man, Brubaker’s Captain America, Johns’ Justice League and Snyder’s Batman. And in all honesty, I’m not sure where you put Hickman’s run at Marvel in the 2010s? It spawned two of the best events in the last decade, Infinity and Secret Wars, and somehow it was all connected. What he did is beyond words. What do all these comics have in common? Sorry, it’s not some out-of-the-box answer, but simply, a clear beginning, middle and end. And that does make a difference. It gives the reader a…
